Pictures from OZ

We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and
know the place for the first time.
T. S. Elliot

In 1986 I retired from work  for what I thought would be a two year cycling trip around the world. Being kind of slow it took me 8 years. My first stop was Australia where I ended up cycling half way around the country in 9 months. My trip began then, like now with my parents dropping me off at the airport.
Having a drink at the opera house lounge with Shelley Hormann, who I met cycling in the tropical N. Eastern part of OZ. Shelley now lives just outside the Olympic village in the town of Summer Hill and has graciously welcomed me into her house for the next month.

When I arrived in Sydney I was accorded special treatment at customs and immigration. As a member of the "Olympic family" I was escorted to the head of the line and welcomed with humor and a smile. I begin working in the Olympic village 2 Oct.  In the mean time I'll be roaming around site seeing. Sunday I  went with my friend Shelly to the Blue Mountains, about 1 1/2 hours from Sydney.
